Autopsy fails to show if Bobbi Kristina's death was accidental

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, released the autopsy report on Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death on Friday, but it's still unclear whether her death was an accident, murder or suicide.
The medical examiner's report released showed that Brown, the daughter of singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, had a combination of morphine, cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs in her body.
According to the medical examiner’s statement, Bobbi Kristina died of lobar pneumonia, which was caused by the combination of drugs found in her system, drowning and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy – a neurological condition resulting from a lack of oxygen to the brain.
“The drugs involved included marijuana, alcohol (ethanol), benzoylecgonine (a cocaine-related substance), benzodiazepines (medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety), and morphine,” the medical examiner's office said.
“It could not be determined from toxicology tests whether the morphine resulted from heroin use.”
The autopsy alone could not reveal the underlying cause of death because of the long interval between her being found unresponsive in the bathtub and her eventual death.
The 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home on January 31, 2015, and died in hospice care on July 26 after six spending months in a coma.
Her death was eerily similar to her mother, who also drowned in a hotel bathtub in February 2012 just before the Grammy Awards. Bobbi Kristina was buried next to her mother in a New Jersey cemetery.
The medical examiner’s office says her death was “clearly not due to natural causes,” but they can't tell if it was due to intentional or accidental causes, and the coroner classified the manner of death 'undetermined'.
“She'd used a bunch of drugs, she went into the bath and she basically drowned in the bathtub,” he said. “That's pretty much all you can tell from this report.”
Medical personnel were able to revive her but she suffered brain damage that left her in a coma, and she ultimately died from pneumonia, the autopsy report says.
Other details revealed in the full autopsy report include how Bobbi Kristina was missing two teeth, was covered in dozens of scars and bruises and was just 93 pounds when she died.
The autopsy report had been sealed by a judge at the request of prosecutors, for "public safety and investigative reasons." However, two television stations sued for its release and a judge ruled in their favour Thursday.
Bobby Brown, who was upset that the autopsy report had been released without his consent, believes someone is responsible for his daughter’s death.
In a statement issued to US Weekly, he said he said: “First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter’s autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family.”
Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard is investigating whether criminal charges should be brought in Brown's death, but has said very little about the probe.
Brown's estate filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her partner, Nick Gordon, 20, accusing him of giving her a “toxic cocktail” and putting her face down in water. Gordon has not been charged and his attorney Randy Kessler said the report should put to rest “all the negativity surrounding” him.
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown were married 15 years before their relationship ended in 2007. Bobbi Kristina was their only child together.
